Mr. Abhishek Dutt also raised the issue against the poor implementation of basic laws at the grass root level which poses a big hindrance in the application of the laws later on, and was in utmost favour of fast-tracking proceedings and aimed at better planning of the laws in India. AAP Candidate Ms. Alka Lamba praised how her political party has been so successful in implementing the Odd-even rule in Delhi and how they are working for the safety of women in the region. Ms. Prachi Srivastava added on in regard to the powers given to the implementing authorities of the country being feeble due to which everyone can have their way with the law. BJP candidate Ms. Nupur Sharma raised her voice against the unsafe condition for women in Delhi and how so many rape and molestation cases are pending in the courts and more-so go completely un-noticed. She also raised a point to waive off the unnecessary laws present in the legal system of the country that have to be done away with in order to give the public better services and make their life convenient. There was a point raised by Ms. Bhasin regarding the implementation of laws in urban areas vs the rural areas and the ignorance of general public towards the basic law was highlighted. Hot topics such as the current ODD-EVEN rule that had been applied in Delhi recently had a heated debate between the AAP and BJP candidates which also involved the students present into a much enthusiastic discussion with the panelists. Many questions related to red-tapism, lobbying , increasing rape cases, odd-even formula of Delhi , Delhi Legal Aid Society, need for new laws for appointing judges and ministers, salary hike for ministers, E-governance and many more such issues were discussed on the panel. The students present were very involved and enthusiastic in asking their question upon the current legal scenario of the nation to the present candidates of the 3 major political parties present at the panel discussion. In the end to end the discussion on a positive note Ms. Prachi and Ms. Bhasin spoke on how over the years our country has evolved and is awakening towards a new horizon slowly yet steadily and we as citizens of the country and future lawyers should build our country India into a better nation.
